About Kate Koning MA, LPC
I understand that choosing to seek therapy can feel scary. I want you to feel comfortable, supported and that you’ve made the right choice. In our sessions together, I’ll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome patterns and habits holding you back. I take a holistic approach, focusing on the mind-body connection to help you understand how past experiences can influence the present and outlook on the future. Navigating through a trauma informed lens, I can help you remove old patterns and belief systems in order to enjoy life. My approach is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental. I use an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches tailored specifically for you to create lasting change. I have over 14 years of clinical experience across a variety of treatment settings including and community clinical settings, hospitals and structured PHP/IOP programs. I received my master’s degree in community counseling from Fairfield University and am a licensed professional counselor. I have specialized training in integrative somatic trauma therapy. I work with adolescents and adults with a wide array of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, relationship and family difficulties, addiction and overall life stressors. I specialize in working with trauma and how it affects not only our thoughts and emotions but also our body sensations. My goal is to help you gain a better understanding of the mind-body connection.
