What is most important in my practice is that all my clients experience unconditional positive regard in a safe and non-judgemental environment. My approach tends to be straightforward and authentic, and I make it a point to be real with my clients.
I create a safe place to identify and discuss issues that impact your day to day life. As your therapist, I will work with you to identify what may or may not be working in your life. Through self exploration and problem solving we work together to make healthy changes and resolve concerns. We each have an internal “story” of our lives. Our likes, dislikes, skills, challenges, as well as life events, the world, media and family–all influence our choices, how we view ourselves and what we think is possible. Therapy is your place to explore and work out how perceptions and situations impact you.
I have experienced many seasons of life. I understand we all are on different routes and make stops along the journey. I try to embrace each new path. Life is full of joy and trials. I assist you in working through life’s challenges. My belief is that these challenges can have value and give us an opportunity for self-reflection and growth. When we find our strengths we can move forward and find inner peace.
I understand that choosing to seek therapy can feel scary. I want you to feel comfortable, supported and that you’ve made the right choice. In our sessions together, I’ll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome patterns and habits holding you back. I take a holistic approach, focusing on the mind-body connection to help you understand how past experiences can influence the present and outlook on the future. Navigating through a trauma informed lens, I can help you remove old patterns and belief systems in order to enjoy life. My approach is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental. I use an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches tailored specifically for you to create lasting change.
I am committed to empowering my clients and helping them to create meaningful, positive changes in their lives. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, and I emphasize the importance of building a strong, trusting relationship with my clients. I tailor my interventions to each client’s unique needs and goals. Treating each client with empathy and non-judgmental manner helps to provide a trusting relationship for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences and to develop the skills and resilience necessary to overcome obstacles and foster personal growth. I work with individuals, couples, and families to address life stressors including depression, anxiety, trauma, family and marital problems etc.
I practice Cognitive Behavior therapy with expertise in treating anxiety, mood and adjustment disorders. I enjoy partnering with my clients to assess and develop goals that focus on gaining insight and making positive lifestyle change. I provide care, support and thoughtful guidance for personal growth, creating new pathways for you to move forward for a healthier life. My background includes adult and adolescent treatment, trauma, group work and mindful techniques. My experience includes school based counseling and work with at-risk teens. As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), I integrate mindfulness and yogic approaches into my therapeutic practice.
I believe that the most important part of therapy is the relationship formed between the therapist and client. It is my intention to create a safe place where you feel seen and heard and can engage in deep self-exploration. Let’s work together to examine your strengths as well as weaknesses so that you can make personal, healthy choices that will enhance your life. I will share clinical strategies, mindfulness techniques and education in mind/body connection in an effort to help you find balance, embrace all life’s challenges and create positive change.
